Vacation in April

Hard to believe this is my first beach picture of the year! -And it's already September!

This is a new character. Well, new to you. I designed her over a year ago and she plays a pivotal role in my JADED comic. Her name is April Lennor. She's Jade's closest friend. I tried my best to make her look young, but I think I made her muzzle a little too long. She's supposed to be 14 and a half. She looks closer to 17. Oh well, I've noticed that most young girls I know look older than they actually are.

To make a long story short, April is on vacation with her parents.

Anyway, this was supposed to be just a quick speed test but as usual, my desire for quality artwork kicked in and I spent more time than was required to bring this pic up to the level it's at now.

It took about two hours from the moment pencil touched paper, to the completion of the inking process. Then about two more hours to finish the picture. Not too bad I guess.
