No season 2 episode for you Scootaloo but don't worry because one day;

you'll be the one who stands up tall
The one who rises above them all
The one who gets to be...

Somebody.

This piece took a lot longer than it should have, but it's finally finished!

I'm not sure what inspired me to make this... I guess Dash and Scoot both have a special place in my heart, and I love the way Scoot idolizes Dash.
I imagined a scene in which Scootaloo watches in horror as her hero botches a stunt and violently crashes deep in the Everfree Forest. Scootaloo immediately tears into the forest and gets herself lost, but she eventually locates Rainbow Dash in an unconscious heap on the forest floor. Scoot wants to get help, but she refuses to leave her hero in the forest alone in this condition. Instead she does what she can to shield Dash from an incoming storm and stays with her until help arrives...

As usual you're free to come up with your own scenarios for this scene, but just know my original vision included a happy ending. ;)

I have ideas for another pic or two related to the image above, but right now my focus has been shifted to those two comics I referred to in my journal!

Who knows, maybe someday I'll write a fanfiction based on this pic... But don't hold your breath! ;)

(BTW, How do the colors look? Are they too dark?)

Ladies and gentlemen... My first critique!

I'm writing a crit because I really like the story behind this. :D

I really like Scoots in this picture. I like her eyes and you can clearly see the desperation in her face. I also like that you've spaced her a little from Dash to give them both a better silhouette and make what's going on in the picture clearer.

I feel the forest background could use some work (look at me saying this when I myself have recently been struggling with forest scenes). I feel there should be more to the image than trees and rocks. I also feel the trees could be given some interesting shapes as well. Trees rarely look so straight and uniform. As for things besides trees and rocks you could include things like underbrush, bushes, fallen leaves, ferns, mushrooms, pebbles, fallen branches, moss etc etc.

I think all that really needs to be done to improve the image is to look at a lot of reference of forest photos and see what kind of things are among the trees and what kind of shapes the trees themselves make. As well as how their roots connect to the ground.

Or on the other hand you could look at references from the show itself and see what kind of techniues the artists of the show used to simplify the forest and how they handle tree shapes and things in between the trees.

Oh one last thing. I would crop the picture a little on the right side of it. I feel there's a little too much empty space there. You could actually cut the tree on the right in half and you'd have a much stronger composition.

Regardless, I like the picture! :D fave from me!

This art piece is just wonderful. The whole scene makes the mood of the image so much stronger. The rain definitely adds a touch of cliché depression too. Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo's facial expressions are so strong, you made it simple to feel the torment they are going through.
The colors and shading are near perfect. The only things that could use some work are the shape of Rainbow's tail and there should of been a variety of the trees in the forest. Other than those two factors you did great job on this piece, it is very nice and worth a favorite, watch, and llama.

I personally love this. The everfree forest is meant to be dark and almost forlorn looking so I think the deeper colors bring that out quite well. Well done!!

Sure it's sad Scoots didn't get a season 2 episode, but she did get a Season 3 episode to make up for it.

This is wonderful. I love your Scootaloo and Dash comics. Everything about this comic, from the rain pouring down to the desperate expression on Scootaloo's face, made it perfect. Well done.
