She couldn’t contain herself, she busted out laughing as the waitress threw the contents of her glass into Falco’s face.

He wiped the sticky beverage off his beak with his shirt. “Fine! See if I ever save your planet again!” Falco yelled over his shoulder.

She glanced over her shoulder and noticed Fox standing in the doorway of the bar. Something looked like it was troubling him. He noticed her staring at him and he quickly dropped eye contact. That wasn’t unusual for him.

He slowly started walking towards the booth they were sitting at. “We need to get going guys. I just received an urgent transmission from General Pepper.

“Fine, this was a lousy bar anyway.” Falco grumbled.

“I need to speak with you privately Krystal...” Fox trailed off still avoiding eye contact.

She smiled. “Sure thing!” She followed fox out back into the alley behind the bar. She tried to break the silence with some small talk, but Fox wasn’t responding. He abruptly stopped in mid-step. “Why so glum Fox?” She asked.

Fox took a deep breath and closed his eyes. “Krystal... I don’t want you on the team anymore.”

Her jaw dropped and a horrified expression came over her face. “Wha- why!?”

“I can’t-“ He paused. “I can’t let you continue doing this. It’s too dangerous. I won’t let you lose your life to this job.”

“It’s my life Fox! It’s what I love doing! Where am I going to go!? What am I going to do!?”

Fox took a breath and opened his eyes. “I’ve already sent all your things to the Nova Inn and given you enough money to get you by until you can support yourself.”

The shock started wearing off and the reality of her situation start setting in. She fell to her knees tears welling up in her eyes. “ Please Fox! Don’t do this!” She grabbed onto his shirt. “The Team-,” She paused trying to fight the tears. “The Team is the only family I have left! Please don’t ask me to leave! I can’t lose my family again! I can’t!”

Fox’s body was as stiff as a board. He kept his eyes shut and his head lowered. He raised his arms and took hold of Krystal’s then, slowly pushed them away. “Goodbye Krystal.” He whispered. He turned around and started walking away.

She started breathing heavily for a few seconds then screamed at the top of her lungs. “I love you Fox!” Tears were pouring from her face. “ Please, please! Don’t leave me!”

Fox stopped. Krystal held her breath as her heart raced in her chest. She prayed that he would turn around and ask her back, that tomorrow she’d wake up again in her old bed on the Great Fox and things would be as they always were. He stood there, silent and motionless for nearly a minute then finally, kept walking.

Krystal grabbed her head and started bawling. She laid down on her side praying this was all a terrible nightmare. Old pains and memories started flashing back, pains she hadn’t felt since her parents died when her world was destroyed. Now, after all those years she was back where she started. She was alone and lost...

Whew! That was rather intense. Lets turn down the emo factor a few notches for the rest of this comment. =P

This was one of those sketches I made while down in Florida. Kind of a reimagining of the intro to Star Fox Command. I wanted something that could possibly explain Krystal's radical personality shift in the game. Yeah, it's basically what happened in the cannon beginning, but I think my slight twist better explains the personality shift since you got an idea of what was said.

No I don't plan on writing a SF fanfiction. This was just an excuse to exercise the old writing muscle and good practice for emotional scenes.

If you've got anything you'd like to say, I'll be glad to listen!

Wow.... Fox dumped her ... I'm a big Wolf fan and even I find that shocking! Anywho scince Krystal has no family any more can you make a really and I mean REALLY big romantic realationship with Wolf I always loved the idea of Wolf and Krystal together as a couple.
